A Week of Celebrations

It has been a busy week at CWCS this week, with a number of changes being made and students out and about in the world.
First of all, many congratulations to our new senior student team who were selected this week.

  • Head Girl: Megan Stafford
  • Head Boy: Caleb Pipes-Goulsbra
  • Deputy Head Girl: Jessica Hudson
  • Deputy Head Boy: Ben Moss
  • Community Champion: Luke Wiles

They have already had their first duty, with Megan and Caleb giving a short speech at the lower school prize giving on Wednesday, just hours after finding out!
Mrs Grayson and a team of students have been working hard on a new mural for the 3G block. The mural celebrates the work of Keith Alexander and the links between Lincoln and St Lucia. Well done everyone, it is a beautiful piece of artwork.

To launch the new faculty system Thursday’s Subject Immersion Day saw students (and VERY competitive staff) throwing themselves into an enterprise challenge to design a logo, mascot and product for Tennyson, Newton and Alexander faculties. The standard of products and the creativity we saw was outstanding. Congratulations to Isaac the Newt and Newton Faculty for winning the first trophy.
Mrs Camm, Mr Beesley, Miss Fogg and Miss Lewis looked absolutely exhausted following their visit to Barcelona with 29 students, but said everyone had a fantastic time. For more details and to see a selection of the hundreds of photographs, please click on the link. Mr Beesley completed his week with a Cricket Tour to Nottinghamshire with Mr Dilks and a group of students.
Well done to Mrs Camm, Frankie Hanson, Beth Felton, Molly Lound, Sophie Primett, Hayley Smith, Luke Taylor, Nicola Ingall, Heather Caines, Kelly Sykes and Whitney Botham who came third in the EBP Fire Challenge. The “Hoax” DVD they produced is now going to be developed further as a fire safety resource.

Student and staff member of the Week
Mr Radcliffe wrote in this week to nominate Billie-Marie Doughty as student of the week. He wanted to thank her for the excellent care and support she provides for other students during science lessons. Well done Billie-Marie.

Mrs Cooper has been honoured as Staff member of the Week. She was nominated by Mr Pindar for her hard work and tireless effort chasing up reports and collating them so that they could be issued today, to every student! Congratulations Mrs Cooper!
